why radio requesting is important?
Radio requesting is important for an artist’s airplay because it helps influence the music played on radio stations, which in turn can impact the artist's exposure, chart performance, and overall success.
- When listeners request a song, it signals to radio stations that the song is in demand. Stations often adjust their playlists based on audience interest, so more requests for Jennie's song can lead to increased airplay.
- Program directors and DJs decide what gets played on the radio, and listener requests can directly influence their choices. If a song receives multiple requests, it tells them that there is a strong demand for that track, which can prompt them to play it more frequently.
- Radio airplay is a major component of music charts like the Billboard Hot 100. The more frequently a song is played on the radio, the higher it can climb on these charts.
- When listeners repeatedly request a song, it creates buzz and excitement around the track. This can encourage other listeners to check it out, which may lead to more streams, downloads, and further airplay.
- Radio stations often serve specific regional or local audiences, so a song’s popularity can grow from one market to another. If a song gets frequent requests in one region, it may spread to other stations or become a candidate for national syndication.
-
Radio stations are competitive and aim to attract as many listeners as possible. By playing highly requested songs, they cater to their audience’s preferences, helping boost listener engagement and, in turn, their ratings.
Radio REQUESTING

IMPORTANT:
- DJs do not wish to be spammed, and they are unlikely to play requests from people that they believe to be outside the range of their radio station. In order for your request to be taken seriously, DO NOT SPAM and as much as possible DO NOT COPY AND PASTE.
