To make your music streams count toward an artist’s chart performance (such as on the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard 200, or other streaming charts), there are some specific practices you can follow. Here’s a guide on how to make your streams count:
1. Use Official Streaming Platforms:
Streams only count if they are made on official, licensed platforms that report data to charting companies (like Billboard, Luminate, or Official Charts). The most popular platforms that count include:

2. The key is to act like a human, not a robot!
- Step 1: Log onto any one of your streaming accounts.
- Step 2: Search for JENNIE’s artist page or a title song-focused playlist.
- Step 3: Play or shuffle the playlist.
- Step 4: Interact with the streaming platform now and again (i.e., liking a song, skipping a song, or changing the playlist)
3. Important points!
DO NOT LOOP!
- Streaming JENNIE’s music without looping the same song or playlist won't help boost the stream numbers!
- If creating your own playlist, put 3-4 different songs in between the same song.
DO NOT USE VPN!
The number of streams that equal one album unit or sale varies based on the type of stream (audio or video) and whether it comes from a paid or free platform. Here’s the breakdown of how many streams equal one unit/album sale for the most common charting systems like Billboard:
Billboard 200 Chart (Album Sales Conversion):
The Billboard 200 chart tracks album-equivalent units, which consist of:
- Pure album sales (physical or digital)
- Track-equivalent albums (TEA)
- Streaming-equivalent albums (SEA)
When it comes to streaming, here’s how the conversions work:
1. Paid Subscription Streams:
- 1,250 streams from a paid subscription (e.g., Spotify Premium, Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited) equal one album sale.
2. Free (Ad-Supported) Streams:
- 3,750 streams from a free, ad-supported service (e.g., Spotify Free, YouTube, Pandora) equal one album sale.
3. Track-Equivalent Albums (TEA):
- 10 track sales (i.e., buying 10 individual song downloads from the album) equal one album sale.
- Paid streams are valued more because they come from premium subscription services, which typically generate more revenue per stream for artists.
- Ad-supported streams (from free accounts) contribute less toward the charts due to lower revenue generated from ads.
How Streams Are Counted:
- On-Demand Audio Streams: This includes platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, and Amazon Music.
- Video Streams: Streams from platforms like YouTube (official music videos), are also included in the 150:1 ratio.
Streaming Equivalent for Song Sales: Hot 100 USA
- Counts US Purchases & US Streams Only
- If you are looking at individual song sales (like for Billboard Hot 100), the conversion for streaming to song units is:
- 150 streams (audio or video) equal one song sale.
- 375 free streams equal one song unit sale
- Premium streams have more weight than free streams - use premium services (including free trials), where possible.
Streaming Equivalent for Song Sales: GLOBAL CHART
- One track sale = 200 premium streams = 900 ad-supported streams(BB Global 200 Chart)
- One track sale = 200 premium streams = 900 ad-supported streams(BB Global 200 Excl US Chart)
